Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It brings together Hakushu malt whiskies with varying levels of peat, so the smoke gives structure rather than leading the flavour. The style is green and herbaceous, with a light peat character that arrives late and lingers gently. In the tasting notes, peppermint, crisp citrus and cool herbs sit against a fine line of peat. Melon and cucumber add freshness, yuzu and grapefruit bring energy, and mint and lemon thyme add a herbal edge.
