This is a Japanese blended whisky vatted by Ichiro Akuto from two single casks: a 1990 Hanyu and a 1982 Kawasaki. Both distilleries are now closed. It was bottled in 2017 at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was created to mark the 28th anniversary of the Kiyosato Field Ballet. The Hanyu cask was a refill sherry butt, and the Kawasaki grain whisky came from a Demerara rum cask. Kawasaki was a grain distillery owned by Mercian, which also owned Karuizawa, and its remaining casks were bought by Akuto in 2006. The release came to 359 bottles.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
