Hard Truth Sweet Mash Bourbon is an Indiana bourbon from Brown County, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made by the sweet mash method, which starts every batch with fresh ingredients instead of recycling spent stillage from an earlier run. The mashbill is 73% corn, 19% rye and 8% malted barley.
The nose offers caramel, glazed cinnamon rolls and cherry turnover, with a little charred oak. The palate is buttery, with candied pecans, vanilla cream and toffee, then caramel, cherry and sweet oak. The finish is medium to long, with peppery spice, chocolate, charred oak and mixed nuts.
