Hatozaki 12 Year Old Umeshu Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is a Hatozaki blended malt made from malt whiskies that each spent at least twelve years in American oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The whisky then spent a further six months in casks that previously held Japanese umeshu plum liqueur, which adds a sweet plum note to the malty base. The nose is grain, fresh pear and apricot. On the palate pear and apricot meet honey and malty pastry, with sweetness from the umeshu cask. The finish is long and sweet, with jammy yellow plum.
