This is the sixth edition of the Hatozaki Omakase Collection, a Japanese blended whisky in a 70cl bottle at 42%. Bourbon, malt and grain whiskies are married in small batches by Kimio Yonezawa, master distiller and blender.
After maturing in ex-bourbon casks, the blend is finished in traditional Mizunara oak casks in Japan. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour.
Vanilla and caramel meet coconut, warm cedar and toasted spice on the nose, with a little ginger and ripe fruit. The palate is soft and creamy, with sandalwood and gentle nutty notes. The long finish stays dry and woody, with cedar and a touch of ginger.
