Hazelburn 21 Year Old is a triple-distilled, unpeated Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43.2% ABV in a 700ml bottle. It is made at Springbank Distillery, which founded its home on Longrow in Campbeltown in 1828 and malts, distils, matures and bottles on the same site.
The nose opens with old leather, bung cloth and the damp earthiness of a dunnage warehouse, then treacle, caramel, bramble fruit, honey and dried fruit. The palate is soft and syrupy, with marshmallow, vanilla, toasted almonds, a mineral note and gentle oak spice. The finish is long, with cocoa, cappuccino, mint, dried fruit and light wood tannins.
