Heaven Hill 90th Anniversary Bourbon is a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 53.5% in a 750ml bottle to mark ninety years of Heaven Hill, which was founded in Bardstown in 1935.
It blends 70% traditionally aged bourbon with 30% matured in heavily charred "alligator" barrels. All of it was distilled on a single production day, and 204 barrels were filled on 13 December 2015, then aged for just over nine years. The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye.
The nose has burnt caramel, black raspberry, plum wine and cinnamon. The palate is creamy, with cola, Concord grape and baked apple. The finish is long, with sweet charred oak, maple and black pepper.
