This is Hennessy VS Cognac in a one-litre bottle, released to mark the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States on 20 January 2009. The neck carries a medallion with the number 44 and the inauguration date.
The Cognac is a blend of up to 40 eaux-de-vie from the four growing regions of Cognac, aged in fine-grain Limousin oak and assembled by the Hennessy Master Blender.
It has a warm amber colour with golden highlights. Pear, apple and light floral notes sit alongside gentle vanilla on the nose. The palate is smooth, with fresh fruit, soft oak, honey and a light spice, and the finish is clean and warm.
