Hibiki 21 Year Old

Hibiki 21 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky from Suntory. It is made from 30 different single grain and single malt whiskies, all matured for at least 21 years. The name translates roughly as harmony. Maturation took place in Mizunara oak and in sherry casks from the Yamazaki distillery. The 24 facets of the clear glass bottle refer to the 24 sekki of the traditional Japanese calendar, and the label is made from handmade washi paper. The nose brings vanilla, oak, and tropical and citrus fruit, with banana, pineapple and passion fruit to the fore. The palate is oily, with soft, heavy liquorice, nuts and cinnamon. The finish is long and smooth, with vanilla and citrus.
