This is a dry Oloroso sherry from Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a house dating back to 1792. Gobernador is the bodega's standard dry Oloroso bottling, in a 75cl bottle.
It is made from the Palomino grape and aged oxidatively in the bodega's solera system, which gives the rich, nutty character and smooth finish typical of Oloroso Seco. It can be sipped neat or used in cooking.
