A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 12 Scene 7 is a limited-edition rye from High West, bottled at 49.3% ABV. It starts as the distillery's Rendezvous Rye, a blended straight rye whiskey, which is then finished in French oak and port barrels.
The Acts and Scenes in the name mark individual batches and differences in ageing and blending, and the whiskey is released seasonally.
The nose offers mulled wine, dark cherries, cinnamon and caramelised sugar. On the palate come figs, vanilla, toasted oak, clove and nutmeg alongside rye spice, followed by a long, warming finish of port sweetness, baking spice and dried fruit.
