High West American Prairie is a straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof). It is a blend of straight bourbons aged from 2 to 13 years in new, charred white American oak.
The blend draws on a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley from MGP, and another of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley from an undisclosed source.
The nose is light caramel and sweet vanilla. The palate is rich and earthy, with candy corn, honey nougat and sweet cornbread. The finish is vanilla with a hint of caramel apple.
