A Midwinter Night's Dram is a High West rye, a blend of straight rye whiskeys. It is made from the distillery's Rendezvous Rye, aged in ruby and tawny port barrels.
The nose brings muddled blackberries, honey-poached figs, chocolate-covered cherries and toasted marshmallow, with gentian root, star anise and a note of well-worn leather. The palate is refreshing, with sugar plums, spiced bitter orange peel, toffee cookies and fresh dates.
The finish is aromatic, with bitters, pink peppercorn, violets and mint.
