High West Rendezvous Rye is a blend of two straight rye whiskies, one aged six years and the other sixteen. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle and is the flagship of High West.
It was the distillery's first whiskey, named after the annual summer gathering of mountain men held between 1825 and 1840, and it is made from straight ryes with high rye mashbills.
The nose is big, with cinnamon stick, clove, vanilla, peppermint, caramelised sugar and dried fruit. The palate is very spicy, with cinnamon, crisp mint and fennel over caramel, molasses, vanilla, macaroon, cocoa and candied fruit. The finish is long, with rye spice, cinnamon, orange rind and vanilla.
