Viking Heart is a 15 year old Highland Park single malt from Orkney, bottled at 44% in a ceramic bottle. It was created by Gordon Motion and matured in European and American sherry casks, in a natural colour.
The peat comes from Hobbister moor and gives a gentle heather smoke, set against the sweetness of the sherry.
The nose is warm, with cinnamon, heather smoke, sweet vanilla and fruity sponge cake. The palate brings lemon zest and pineapple with heather honey, a mild peat note and spiced vanilla sweetness. The finish is long and balanced, with clear peat smoke and lingering fruit and honey.
