Highland Park – 17 Year Old Between You and I by Laila Gohar (47.5%)

This is a 17 year old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, bottled at 47.5%. It is the second chapter in the distillery's collaboration series, created by Master Whisky Maker Marc Watson with the artist Laila Gohar, who drew on Gohar's Egyptian heritage and sensory memories. It matured mainly in American oak and bourbon casks, and illustrations on the packaging echo the tasting notes. The nose combines fresh fruit and sweet vanilla with delicate spices, leather and mild orange blossom. The palate is rich and full, with ripe fruit, velvety vanilla, soft spices and oak. The finish is long and warm, with vanilla, subtle oak and soft, dry leather.
