This is a 1978 Highland Park single malt, aged for 18 years and bottled by Murray McDavid at 46% ABV. The outturn was 150 bottles.
The nose combines gentle peat smoke with charred wood shavings, butterscotch, caramel and a touch of green apple. On the palate there is soft smoke, mild vanilla and faint orange, with a charcoal note running through.
The finish is spicy, very dry, oaky and smoky.
