This is a 21-year-old Highland Park, an Island single malt distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2020 by Douglas Laing for its Old Particular range. It comes from single cask DL14573 and is bottled at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured fully in a refill barrel before bottling.
The nose is soft leather developing into damp oak, with brown sugar and spice. On the palate come cinnamon, cocoa powder, red fruits, wood shavings and honeycomb. The finish lingers sweetly, with milk chocolate and citrus peel.
