A 30 year old Highland Park from the distillery's own bottling range, distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2006. It comes at 48.1% in a 70cl bottle. Highland Park is the northernmost distillery in Scotland, on Mainland in Orkney, and this bottling won a gold medal as Best in Class at the 2006 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
The nose is intense, with oak first and then overripe apple, orange, peach, fig and apricot, sweet caramel, and later herbs, honey and cherry. The palate is very sweet with prickling oak, orange concentrate and woody honey. The finish is very long, sweet, fruity and spicy, with vanilla, honey and light tobacco.
