Highland Park – Cask Strength Release No. 2 (63.9%)

This is the second release in the Highland Park Cask Strength series, bottled at 63.9% straight from the cask with no water added to reduce the strength. Highland Park is made in Kirkwall on Orkney. The whisky was drawn mainly from sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, with a few ex-bourbon casks alongside. The nose offers summer rose, ripe pear and fresh coconut over aromatic dry smoke. On the palate come poached pear and rich almond cake with honey, salted liquorice and lightly toasted oak, ending in black pepper and peat smoke. The finish is long, with orchard fruit, black pepper and sweet aniseed.
