Highland Park – Cask Strength Release No.4 (64.3%)

This is the fourth release in Highland Park's Cask Strength series, an Orkney single malt bottled at its natural strength of 64.3% ABV. The whisky matured for 14 years in a mix of casks. Most were first-fill sherry-seasoned European and American oak, with smaller amounts of refill, ex-bourbon and ex-Port casks. The distillery's lightly smoky style runs through it. Turkish delight shows on both nose and palate, alongside sooty peat smoke. Coconut, rose and raspberry add a floral sweetness, balanced by rich fruit and spice from the sherry casks.
