Highland Park Earl Magnus 15 Years Old is a single malt from Orkney, the first edition in the Inga Saga Trilogy. It is named after Earl Magnus, a figure from Orkney's Viking history.
The whisky was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2009, after fifteen years in American oak casks. 5,976 bottles were released, at 52.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has honey, vanilla and sweet malt, with dried fruit, spicy oak and heather, and faint smoke. On the palate, honeyed sweetness, malt and ripe fruit meet vanilla, soft caramel and warm oak spice, with some peat smoke. The finish is long and warming, with honey, spicy oak and light smoke.
