Highland Park Fire Edition is a 15 year old single malt matured in refill casks seasoned with Port wine.
Gold in colour, it opens on a vegetal nose of pumpkin, beetroot, blackcurrant leaves, moss and fern, with Port, a mineral smokiness, coal smoke and a little menthol. There is a coastal character throughout.
On the palate it is smoky, with jelly babies, raspberry jam, nutmeg and cinnamon, and blood oranges that lift it. The finish is rather long, still of smoked and spiced raspberries.
