Highland Park – Full Volume Single Malt (47.2%)

Highland Park Full Volume is a special edition single malt bottled at 47.2%. It takes its idea from music, where amplifiers and equalisers keep the sound balanced at high volume. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion applied the same thinking to keep the whisky clear and balanced at a higher strength. It was matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks rather than the usual sherry casks. A mix of 481 casks, 200 litre barrels and 250 litre hogsheads, was filled in 1999 at around 63.6 to 63.7%, and the whisky was bottled in 2017. The nose is citrus, pear and cake. The palate brings creamy vanilla and sweet spices, and the finish biscuits, oak and mild peat.
