Highland Park – 'Odin' 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 55.8%)

Highland Park 'Odin' is a 16 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Valhalla Collection, bottled at 55.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Adding water changes it: the earthy peat and dried grassy notes on the nose, and the vegetal peat on the palate, both become more pronounced. Tasting notes describe caramel, fudge, leather, piney wood, Muscovado sugar, cinnamon and toasted walnuts on the nose. The palate is gently peaty, with chewy oak, toasty barley, dry roasted nuts, blackened fruit cake and cinnamon and nutmeg spice. The finish is long, with lightly smoked walnuts and warm spice.
