This is a 25 year old Highland Park from Orkney, a single malt of amber colour bottled in the 1990s at 53.5% ABV.
The nose is bold, with honey and heather, plenty of nectar sweetness, sherry and fine oak, plus an unusual amount of peat for its age. On the palate it starts drier than the current version, with a saltier edge. Seawater, wood and smoke develop alongside lingering sweetness.
The finish is long and bold, running through honey, smoke and salt.
