Hillrock Estate Distillery – Double Cask Rye Whiskey Winter Dram Tawny Port Cask Finish (75cl)

This is Hillrock Estate Distillery's Double Cask Rye in its Winter Dram edition, finished in tawny port casks. It is bottled at 115 proof after 5.24 years of ageing, and is a limited edition. Hillrock grows its own grain and processes the malt in its own malthouse. The rye is grown, milled, pot distilled in small batches, aged and bottled by hand on its Hudson Valley estate. The whiskey first ages in new #3 char American oak, then in new #4 char American oak, which adds caramel and vanilla to the rye spice. The tawny port finish adds richness to that spicy profile.
