Hillrock Estate Distillery – Double Cask Rye Whiskey (75cl)

Hillrock Estate Double Cask Rye is a small-batch rye whiskey from the Hudson Valley in New York, in a 75cl bottle. The grain is grown on the estate farm, and the whiskey is pot distilled, aged and bottled by hand on site. It matures first in new American oak casks with a number 3 char, then moves into new American oak casks with a number 4 char, which add caramel and vanilla to the rye spice. The nose is vanilla and caramel with hints of prune, apricot and rye spice. Caramel sweetness opens the palate, followed by mint, clove and cinnamon. The finish is long, warm and sweet, with caramel and butterscotch.
