This is a bourbon from Hillrock Estate Distillery in New York, in a 75cl bottle. It is aged by the solera method, which the distillery describes as a first for American whiskey.
Whiskey is drawn from the lowest tier of a pyramid of barrels and replaced with new spirit in the top tier, so no barrel is ever emptied. After ageing in American oak and Oloroso casks in the solera, the bourbon is finished in rum casks.
The notes describe coconut and vanilla bean with brown sugar and cinnamon, then sugar wafers and taffy. Honeysuckle, toasted coconut and clove follow, with a savoury rum character lingering.
