Hillrock Estate – Double Cask Bourbon Bottled in Bond (75cl, 50%)

Hillrock Estate Double Cask is a bottled-in-bond bourbon from the Hudson Valley in New York, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. The grain is grown on the estate and at neighbouring farms, then milled, mashed, fermented and pot distilled on site. The bourbon matures first in number 3 char American oak barrels and then in number 4 char American oak barrels, for a total of over five years. The official notes give gingerbread, vanilla bean, hazelnuts, nutmeg and butterscotch on the nose, cinnamon, honey-roasted nuts and dark chocolate on the palate, and buttered toffee with baking spices on the finish.
