Horse Soldier Reserve is a barrel strength bourbon made by American Freedom Distillery, named after the U.S. Army Special Forces team known as the Horse Soldiers. It is aged in charred American oak barrels and is non-chill-filtered.
The bottle carries a metal emblem of a soldier on horseback. The distillery was founded by members of the U.S. Army Special Forces who served in Afghanistan.
The nose offers caramel, toasted oak, dark fruit and baking spice. Vanilla, butterscotch, roasted nuts and cinnamon show on the palate, and the finish is long and warming with oak, dark caramel and spice.
