Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon is the entry expression from American Freedom Distillery in St. Petersburg, Florida, a distillery founded by US Army Special Forces veterans. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The horseshoe-nail bottle refers to the horses the founders rode into Afghanistan in the weeks after 9/11.
The nose offers caramel, toasted corn, oak, cinnamon and dark fruit. On the palate come oak, vanilla, nutmeg, mild black pepper and a little honey, and the finish is warm and spicy.
