Horse Soldier Reserve Barrel Strength Bourbon is a wheated bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at barrel strength without chill filtration. Strength runs from 113 to 128 proof, depending on the batch. The spirit is distilled at Middle West Spirits in Columbus, Ohio, from a mashbill of 70% yellow dent corn, 20% wheat and 10% malted barley. It is released by American Freedom Distillery, which was founded by U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers. Honey and butterscotch lead the nose, with baked apple and citrus peel. The palate brings caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper, and the finish is long and warming with toffee, cashew and spiced raisin.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
