Horse Soldier Small Batch (75cl, 45%)

Horse Soldier Small Batch is a bourbon from American Freedom Distillery in St. Petersburg, Florida, a distillery founded by US Army Special Forces veterans. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is wheated, with wheat as the secondary grain rather than rye, and the base distillate comes from MGP Ingredients in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Every bottle carries a cast horseshoe nail, a nod to the horses the founders rode in Afghanistan. The nose offers caramel, butterscotch, honey and vanilla cream over dried fruit. The palate is velvety and smooth, with spiced raisin, oak and light leather, and the finish is robust and woody, with caramel and warm barrel char.
