Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon is a straight bourbon whiskey bottled at 43.5% (87 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It was founded by former US Army Green Berets, and its bottles are formed in moulds made from steel recovered from the World Trade Center site. The mashbill is 65% corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley, aged for a minimum of two years in new charred American oak, and it is non-chill filtered.
Caramel, toasted corn and toffee lead the nose, with sweet apple and cinnamon. Honey and vanilla open the palate, followed by custard, nutmeg and black pepper. The finish is medium, with spicy oak and lingering vanilla.
