Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Distillery II Single Malt (70cl, 55.5%)

This is the first single malt released from Chichibu Distillery II, which began operating in 2019 close to the original Chichibu distillery in Saitama. It is bottled at 55.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon barrels and is made up of whiskies of 4 and 5 years old. A small portion of heavily peated whisky is added to the blend. The new distillery has larger stills and ageing facilities, and the plan is to use older whiskies in the release each year. It is described as fruity and full-bodied, with a honey-like sweetness, layered fruit, gentle smokiness and a malty finish.
