A Japanese blended malt released by Chichibu Distillery, vatting malt from Chichibu and Komagatake in a 70cl bottle at 53.5% ABV. It matured at Chichibu for more than 5 years in bourbon barrels, American white oak and sherry oak.
In 2015 Chichibu and Mars Shinshu began exchanging new make spirit, which was then matured at their own sites. A total of 10,200 bottles were released.
The nose combines caramel sweetness, dusty bookshelves and a mix of tropical fruits. The palate is sweet toffee with banana and pineapple, and the finish is salty with hints of tropical fruit.
