Isle of Harris – Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is the Isle of Harris Distillery's signature single malt, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is made, matured and married entirely in the Outer Hebrides, in a lightly peated island style. The whisky was matured in ex-Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace bourbon casks and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. After blending it went back into cask for at least 12 weeks of marrying before bottling. The nose leads with butterscotch and iced cherry Bakewell tart, with bright fruit and delicate floral notes. The palate has buttery caramel, clove and ginger, with a dry, flinty edge and light peat. The finish is long and creamy, with gentle spice and a hint of peat smoke.
