The Hearach is the first single malt from Isle of Harris, distilled at the Isle of Harris Distillery in the Outer Hebrides. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is lightly peated, at 12 to 15 ppm, and was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks along with Oloroso and Fino butts.
The nose is spicy with a hint of smoke, grain, sweet notes, citrus, vanilla, sea breeze and a touch of metal. The palate is creamy and lightly smoky, with malt and cereal, salt, white pepper and apricot. The finish brings mint, smoke, wood and minerality.
