The Hearach is a single malt from Isle of Harris, bottled at 46% in a 700ml bottle. It is peated to 12-15ppm and carries no age statement.
The whisky matures in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, ex-Oloroso sherry casks and Fino sherry butts.
The nose brings bonfire smoke, ripe apples and pears, toasted malt, Manuka honey and sea kelp, with gentian, orchid and bluebells. On the palate come light peat smoke, salted butter, stewed apples, toasted nuts, candied ginger and creamy vanilla. The finish is long, with clotted cream and toasted malt.
