Jura 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Jura, off Scotland's west coast, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It is distilled in tall stills and matured for ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in aged Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. A lightly peated character adds a restrained smoke.
The nose has vanilla, orange and dark chocolate with cracked black pepper and a smoky undertone. On the palate come nectarine, ginger and coffee with toasted almonds and creamy vanilla. The finish is soft and warming, with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, sweet fruit and a trace of smoke.
