This is a 36 year old Isle of Jura single malt, distilled in 1965 and bottled on 19 July 2001 at its natural strength of 44% ABV. It was drawn from cask 590 as a limited edition of 449 bottles, each hand signed by the distillery manager, Michael Heads, and comes in a wooden presentation tube.
Gold in colour, the nose brings green fruit, seawater, citrus, salted butter and smoked grains, with a faint earthy peat appearing later. The palate offers mango, guava, star fruit, green apple and lime zest, alongside minerals, olive oil and mint. The finish is long and oily, moving towards farmyard notes, black olive and dried herbs.
