This is an 8 year old Isle of Jura pure malt from the 1960s, a blended malt that is straw in colour.
The nose is bold and very fruity, with passion fruit, guava and lemon juice, developing into rum with pineapple, flambéed banana, white pepper, a little cactus juice and tangerine.
The palate is orangey and spicy, with cloves, pepper and nutmeg, before turning tropical again with mango. The finish is rather long and quite peppery.
