Isle of Jura 12 Years Old is a single malt whisky aged for twelve years and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It first spends a long period in ex-bourbon casks, which add hints of tropical fruit and spice. The whisky is then moved to ex-sherry casks, which add rich, sweet layers.
The nose shows layers of chocolate, walnut and citrus. The palate opens sweet, with a salty edge, brown sugar and a little smoke in the background.
