This is a 16 year old single malt from Isle of Jura, bottled at 40% ABV.
It was matured in ex-bourbon American oak and then finished in Oloroso sherry casks, which gives a deep amber-gold colour.
The nose combines honey, toffee and caramel with toasted oak, walnut, citrus peel and a whisper of coastal smoke. On the palate it is silky and medium-bodied, with roasted nuts, orange marmalade, raisin, fig and dark chocolate, and light peat smoke through the malt. The finish is long and warming, with honeyed oak, spice and a final touch of salted caramel.
