Isle of Jura 17 - Macbeth Collection Act Two - Second Murderer

This is a 17 year old Isle of Jura single malt, the Second Murderer bottling from the Macbeth Collection, which draws on Shakespeare's play. It was released by the independent bottler Livingstone Rare in an edition of 1,200 bottles. The whisky spent its seventeen years in Oloroso sherry hogsheads. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose combines strong peat smoke, damp ashes and sandalwood, with dried herbs and dense blackberry and cherry fruit. On the palate, smoke and maritime notes meet sweet sherry, with the same dark fruit and a herbal spiciness in a full body. The long finish is dry, smoky and ashy, with a little wood spice.
