This is an 18 year old single malt from the Isle of Jura distillery, part of the core range relaunched in mid-2018. It is bottled at 44% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then given a finishing period in Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux barrels, which adds a rich fruitiness.
The nose brings cinnamon, dried berries, wine gums and hickory. On the palate come brandied cherries, Turkish delight, milky coffee and blackcurrant jam, and the finish carries chocolate chip cookies, a touch of hay and orange oil.
