This is a 21 year old Isle of Jura single malt from the Tide series, a distillery bottling released in 2021. It is bottled at 46.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in virgin American oak, which adds structure and spicy depth. It has a warm amber colour.
The nose is soft, with vanilla, honey, toasted oak and light sea salt. The palate is round and layered, with caramel, toffee, ripe apple, clove and woody spices, and a delicate maritime freshness behind them. The finish is long and warm, with lingering oak, sweet spices and a soft salty note.
