This is a peated single malt from the Isle of Raasay Distillery, on the island of Raasay in the Inner Hebrides. It was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 59.3% ABV. It comes from the Na Sia Single Cask Series, in an outturn of 298 bottles.
The whisky spent all seven years in a single Bordeaux red wine cask rather than receiving a wine finish, so the wine influence ran through the whole maturation.
The nose is fruity, with strawberries, cherries, plums and blackberries alongside woodsmoke, pepper and a salty sea breeze. The palate has sultanas, dried figs, dense peat smoke, cinnamon and firm oak. The finish is long, smoky and spicy, ending drier as the tannins build.
