Isle of Raasay – 2019 Single Cask 19/50 (70cl, 61.9%)

An Isle of Raasay single malt from a single cask, number 19/50, bottled at 61.9% in a 70cl bottle and dated 2019. The distillery returned barley growing to the island of Raasay in May 2017, when Bill Dobbie and Alasdair Day restarted it after more than 40 years. Its water is filtered through volcanic sedimentary rock and keeps a high mineral content. Fermentation is unusually long, between 96 and 110 hours. This is what gives the new make its berry-fruit character, before the spirit has touched a cask.
